The 25 Most Luxurious Dog Boarding Facilities in America

Most "best dog boarding" articles are written by people who have never set foot in any of the facilities they're recommending. They pull from the first page of Google, paraphrase the marketing copy, and call it a list.

This isn't that.

We crawled the websites of more than 21,000 dog boarding facilities across all 50 states, ran each one through a 12-signal luxury rubric, and let the data sort them. The 25 below are the highest-scoring facilities in the country — the ones whose actual services, accommodations, and operational practices most fully match what the word "luxury" should mean. A few notes on how to read this list:

• **Order is real.** Facilities are ranked by their luxury score, with review volume as a tiebreaker. The top of the list is genuinely the top.
• **Geographic spread isn't curated.** We didn't try to spread these evenly across states. The list reflects where the best facilities actually are.
• **Pricing, when shown, is the entry rate.** Most of these facilities have multiple suite tiers; the lower number is the starting point.
• **We don't take affiliate money to inflate scores.** A facility's position is a function of its rubric score, not its willingness to partner with us.

How we built this list

Every facility in our database was scored on 12 signals — five high-value (suite-style accommodations, cage-free environments, private outdoor yards, live webcams, 24-hour staff) and seven supporting (climate control, group play and enrichment, grooming, vet partnerships, transportation, explicit pricing at $50+, and several others). The signals are weighted, summed, and capped at 1.0 to produce a luxury score between 0.00 and 1.00.

Anything scoring 0.85 or above lands in our **ultra** tier. Anything from 0.70 to 0.84 is **luxury**. The top 25 below are drawn from those two tiers, ranked by score.

We pull our data directly from each facility's own website, not from third-party listings or directories. That means we're seeing what the operators themselves claim — which is the right input for a rubric that's checking whether claims are backed up by specifics. A site that says "luxury suites with private outdoor yards and webcams" scores higher than one that says "boarding available." Both might be operating at a high level; only one is willing to put the specifics in writing.

A few patterns worth noticing

Run your eye down the list and a few things stand out.

**This is not a coastal phenomenon.** Two of our top ten are in places people don't typically think of as luxury markets — Havre, Montana and New Germany, Minnesota. Premium dog boarding follows demand, and demand follows the people who actually own dogs and travel for work. That's not concentrated in any one geography.

**Names matter, but they don't decide the ranking.** Some of the top entries have unmistakable luxury branding ("Premier Canine Villas," "Luxury Acres") and some don't. The rubric scores what's actually offered, not what's promised in the name.

**Webcams and 24-hour staff are the most reliable tells.** The two signals we'd lean on hardest if we were evaluating a facility blind: do they let you watch your dog on video, and is someone physically on the property at 2 AM? Most middle-tier facilities can't say yes to both. Almost every facility on this list can.

**Pricing isn't always public.** A meaningful share of the top facilities don't post nightly rates on their websites — partly because suite tiers vary so widely, partly because they prefer to quote on a tour. That's a stylistic choice, not a quality signal. Don't read into it either way.
